After the success of the experiential musical visits in the Axarquía throughout the year, the Axarquía-Costa del Sol Commonwealth is already preparing the calendar for new visits in 2025.
In 2024, a dozen experiential visits were held in the region as part of the Innova Experiencia Andalusí program. In collaboration with the Mawazín group and the Sharqí Málaga Association, the musical experiences consist of educational concerts where Andalusian poems from the Axarquía are interspersed with explanations about the region’s history during this period. The goal is, in addition to enjoying the music and visiting the Axarquía municipalities, to better understand this historical period and its profound legacy in the region.
In 2024, the visits, which toured Vélez-Málaga, Árchez, Salares, and Cútar, were part of the first edition of the Innova Experiencia Andalusí project. The visits planned for 2025 will be linked to the second phase of the same. The project has been a beneficiary of both calls for funding under the Experiencias de Turismo España program, promoted by the Ministry of Industry, Trade, and Tourism (now, Mintur) and launched by the State Secretariat for Tourism as part of the Plan de Recuperación, Transformación y Resiliencia with Next Generation EU funds.
