With the slogans “Rediscover the Legacy” and “Moving Forward”, the Innova Experiencia Andalusí Dos Consortium presented the results of the project it has been carrying out since October 2024 under the second edition of the Experiencias de Turismo España program, funded by the Next Generation-EU funds through Spain’s PRTR and the Ministry of Industry and Tourism.
The event took place on September 22 at the emblematic Tornerías Mosque in Toledo, one of the finest examples of Andalusi art and heritage preserved in the Castilian-La Mancha capital. This mosque, dating back to the 9th–10th centuries, has undergone a magnificent recent restoration and today stands not only as one of the oldest Islamic places of worship open to visitors in Spain, but also as an exhibition venue and a vibrant cultural space.
The ceremony was opened by Patricia Franco, Regional Minister of Economy, Business, and Employment of the Junta de Comunidades de Castilla-La Mancha, who announced the creation of 10 routes to follow “The Paths of Al-Andalus”across the region. This initiative represents the most significant action undertaken in the five provinces of Castilla-La Mancha as part of the Innova Experiencia Andalusí Dos project.
Alongside Castilla-La Mancha, represented in the project through Eturia-CLM, the other member entities of the consortium — the Mancomunidad de la Costa del Sol Axarquía, the Mancomunidad del Guadajoz – Campiña Este de Córdoba, Prodetur (Seville Provincial Council), the Visit València Foundation, the Municipality of Medinaceli (Soria), and the company Open Concept / Let’s Go Halal — also had the opportunity to present the actions they have carried out up to September 30, 2025. These include the creation of thematic routes to highlight Andalusi heritage and experiences, interactive maps, training sessions, traveling exhibitions, videos, guides and other online resources, restoration works and improvements to enhance visitor experiences at Andalusi heritage sites, as well as initiatives aimed at specialized outreach to Arab and Muslim markets.
In total, 35 actions have been implemented to develop, improve, and bring together Andalusi experiences across the territories involved in the project.
